Bras were not shaped to support or fit different sizes or emphasize the bust. The bras were made to hide the bust. There was the Symington Side Lacer, it was a bra that was laced on both sides and could be pulled to flatten the chest. This helped to achieve the boyish look. Triumph, Warner Brothers, Spirella, and other designers were making bras that separated and flattened the chest by the end of the decade. Equally important, corsets disappeared fast with sales decreasing by two thirds. Instead of corsets thin Lastex girdles were worn to flatten the stomach. Underwear was also free and lightweight like everything else. Cami- bockers and cami- knickers were the most popular. Also, being physically fit was important to the decade. Showing off the arms, especially with flappers, was seen as youthful. Beige stockings for the legs were worn instead of covering the legs with black stockings, as was the norm during the war. Stockings that had patterns, flesh colors and stockings that were not shiny were all very popular. Spanish Brown, Honey Beige, and Teatime were identifiable colors.
